Pet Portrait of Bree, Drawn in Colored Pencil

I knew this sweet, slobbery girl and was so sad to hear she had passed. I really enjoyed bringing this dog portrait of a Saint Bernard to life and thinking about petting the soft fur of her bumpy head again! I especially loved that her tongue was a nice pink to match her collar. I also threw a little pink in the background of this dog portrait to round it out with a feminine touch. Rest in peace Bree.

The reference photo of Brie was not the best for drawing although it showed her sweetness, so I filled in the gaps that I couldn’t see in the photo to make her clear. For instance, the left-side eye was barely visible in the photo, so I used previous knowledge of doggy anatomy to make it visible and look natural.
